HP PCs and printers - Is Windows on my computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Some software and drivers install only in a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows. Know your Windows version to download compatible software.

Find Windows 32-bit or 64-bit system type (Windows 11)
Windows 11 is available only in a 64-bit version.
Find Windows 32-bit or 64-bit system type (Windows 10)
Determine if your Windows 10 system type is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Search Windows for and open About your PC.

The version and system type are listed on the About screen.
Find Windows 32-bit or 64-bit system type (Windows 8)
Determine if your Windows 8 system type is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Right-click the lower left corner of the screen, and then select System.

The system type is listed next to System type.
Find Windows 32-bit or 64-bit system type (Windows 7, Vista)

Find the Windows 32-bit or 64-bit system type when the computer does not start
If your computer does not start, you can find the 32-bit or 64-bit system type on the product packaging, or online in a product specification document.

Search the HP Customer Support site for your computer model number and the word "specification".
For example, if you owned an HP All-in-One 24-f0135 PC, you would type: 24-f0135 specification.

Click the link to your product specification document and scroll down to the software section. The system type is listed with the operating system; for example: Windows 10 Home (64-bit).
NOTE:If 32-bit or 64-bit is not listed next to the name of the operating system, the system type is 32-bit.
